TMG Management Console for 32-Bit Windows
January 23, 2010
Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 runs exclusively on 64-bit Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008R2. This means you will not be able to install the TMG management console included with the installation media on any 32-bit Windows machine. What if you wish to manage your TMG firewalls from a 32-bit Windows operating system? The answer is simple. Download the 32-bit version of the TMG management console. After registering, click the download link and then download the file TMG_ENU_Management_x86.exe. Now you can manage your TMG firewalls from a 32-bit Windows desktop or server operating system!

Why can’t I install the ISA 2006 MMC module onto a 64 bit Windows PC?
It simply isn’t a compatabile 64-bit Windows application, unfortunately. Your only options for managing legacy ISA 2006 systems are RDP to the desktop of your ISA firewall, or keep an old x86 system around (VM?).
I’ve been experiencing an issue for a while now and I’m hoping there is a simple solution. When installing the 64-bit TMG MMC on Windows Server 2008 R2 every time I log out and then log back in again I am required to go through the entire process of reconnecting to the array. Is there a way to get the array to “stick” so that I do not have to go through the wizard every time I log into the management console?
That’s very odd, Mike. I have not ever encountered that myself…
The only thing that I can come up with so far is if the management server (and thus the management console) is not in the same domain as the proxy servers. Even though both domains are trusted.

Try running the installer as an administrator and see what happens…
Hi,
Based on first two comments up there, is it possible to manage ISA 2006 ent. arrays and css from 64-bit forefront mmc? Are there any tools or updates those allow this? And wouldn’t that be handy with mixed configurations? I never needed that before because my solution was managing them through VM, WinXP mode in Win7. I’m now experimenting that management type above. I couldn’t be able to succeed yet and wondering if I had any chance at all..
No, it is not possible to manage ISA server in any form using the Forefront TMG 2010 management console.
