Are you interested in attending a FREE Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG) 2010 training course? If so, I’ll be delivering a two-day instructor-led TMG training program at the Microsoft office in Bellevue, WA on October 6 and 7, 2010. The event is sponsored by Microsoft and Celestix Networks. Attendees will learn how to design and deploy the latest TMG solutions for web access, remote access, and mail protection. The course includes classroom and hands-on lab training. I registered for the TMG Course that will be held at Microsoft on October 6 – 7, 2010 in Bellevue, bought my airline tickets, made hotel reservations, etc. I haven’t heard from any event coordinator to find out where (building/suite) and when to be there.
Notifications with more event details should be going out soon. Looking forward to seeing you in the training class next week!
Thanks Richard. I’m really looking forward to the training as well. I’ve got several questions reference placement and best practices in relation to a WatchGuard firewall that I have in place. I’ve been putting off a couple projects until i get it implemented.
We’ll answer all of those questions for you, and more! See you soon!
Richard, what a great training event. I’d recommend that anyone who wants the low-down on TMG attend one of these events. I’d like to thank you too for spending the time to answer my questions.
I do have one more question, reference remote user vpn access, would it be better to terminate the VPN at the edge firewall (WatchGuard) or the inner (TMG)?
I wish there could have been more time. I would have liked to hear more information on the differences between ssl and sstp vpn and the TMG vs. UAG. I’m anxiously awaiting your article. You were absolutely correct, this two-day event could have easily been five days.
Congratulations again on the 2-time MVP award and I look forward to seeing more articles.
Thanks for the kind words, Breck! Glad you enjoyed the training event. As for terminating your VPN connections on the front firewall versus the back firewall, that depends on your requirements. Personally I would terminate with TMG because I can use Active Directory users and groups to manage my VPN users.
Enjoy the TMG book!
Hi richard,
I would like to see your TMG training portal. Can you give me portal link.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
senthil
I don’t have a training portal per se, but if you follow this blog or my twitter feed @richardhicks you will be notified when any new TMG training events are scheduled.
